RU|EN Financial Literacy for rural households
In February 2010 ACF trained 2 employees who obtained the Microfinance Center’s (MFC) license to conduct Financial Literacy Training (FLT) for poor households. Later on ACF adapted the course to the local market and conducted 2-day trainings in 6 distant villages in Kazakhstan, including the village of Kievka in Karaganda oblast; Sarykemer in Zhambyl oblast; Kokpekty and Samarka in the Semei region and Shelek and Kargaly in Almaty oblast. Training teaches people to set up financial goals, manage family budget, save on expenses, find additional sources of income, make cash savings and wisely borrow. 101 people received international standards certificates. 100% of participants decided to make savings and 91% decided to keep family budget records. |
